Train Stations

CP, the national train operator, runs all trains in
Portugal. Lisbon has 2 main train stations: Santa.
Apolónia, in the city center (now with a Metro Station) and Oriente, in the north part of the city

Sete Rios


This is the station where the inter-city buses
leave from. Whether you want to visit other cities
of Portugal or go abroad, departure is from here.
The main Portuguese bus company, Rede Expresso,
runs comfortable buses. Located near the Zoo Garden. Jardim Zoológico is the name of the bus stop and the metro station.

CArris - city bus and trams

Lisbon has a good bus and tram network
connection. Don´t leave the city without trying
tram number 28 that goes over the castle hill and tram
number 15 that goes to Belém. Beware of pickpockets!
To get on buses and old trams use only the front door and validate your 7 Hills or ZAPPING card at the little yellow machine behind the driver.


Schedule
Running daily from 5-6am to 1am. There are some
night buses running in the busiest areas.

Price
"ZAPPING" is a multimodal ticket. You can load money on your card, enabling you to make trips both on Carris or Metro, as long as you have enough money on the card. The card can be bought on all Carris and Metro concessionaries, like Figueira Square store "Casa da Sorte" or Post Office Stations and Payshop agents, and has a price of 0.50 € and is rechargeable. The minimum value to load is 1,50 € and the maximum 10,00 €. For trips with Carris, the price is 0,81€ and is valid for all Carris transports during 1 hour.

Taxi

The local taxis work with two main rates: Rate 1,
during the week between 6am and 9pm; Rate 2, at night 9pm - 6am and on weekends. Rate 2 is 25% more expensive. The fare outside of the city is
calculated on a km basis upon leaving the city
limits, about 0,40€/km. Any motorway tolls are paid by the client. When taking a cab, try to enquire about the price to your destination first. Save your receipt and check if the licence plate matches the receipt details. See if the meter is running and rate code is correct.

Lisbon Metro

There are 4 lines (blue, yellow, green and red line) that
covers downtown Lisbon and the modern districts. Useful words: correspondência (transfer between lines), saída (exit to the street). The stations are very modern and some of them look like museums with art exhibitions. A red “M” marks the stations on the outside

Schedule
Tickets must be purchased at the machines and
validated at the gates before enter. Daily from
06:30am - 01:00am.

Price
- Single ticket: 0,80€
- 2 way ticket: 1,45€
- 7 Colinas pass: 10 tickets: 7,30€ or 0,73€ for each ticket, just for Metro. You can ask to recharge the pass with zapping credit so is valid for metro and buses for the same price.
