The Estrela’s Basilica was built in the 18th century as the result of a promise of the queen Maria I, that asked for a son to follow her at the throne. The building, a mix of baroque and neo-classical styles, has a beautiful interior of pink and yellow marbles. But its ex-libris is definitely the dome, where one can climb at, having an amazing perspective of the church, but also leading to a terrace with a fantastic view over the city.
